General K-1 Questions
What is a fiancé visa (K-1)?
The K-1 visa generally allows a foreign-citizen fiancé(e) to travel to the United States to marry a U.S. citizen
sponsor within a required time period after arrival. After marriage, the foreign-citizen typically applies for
adjustment of status to become a lawful permanent resident.
Who starts the K-1 process?
The U.S. citizen sponsor typically starts the process by filing a fiancé(e) petition with USCIS (commonly Form I-129F).
After petition approval, the case generally proceeds through Department of State processing and a consular interview.
Do we have to marry within 90 days?
In general, yes. Official guidance describes the K-1 process as requiring the couple to marry within 90 days after
the fiancé(e) arrives in the United States.
Do we need to have met in person?
In general, the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) and the U.S. citizen sponsor must have met in person within the past two
years. There may be exceptions in limited circumstances (for example, hardship or cultural factors), depending on
the case.
What happens if we do not marry within the required timeframe?
Government guidance explains that if the couple does not marry within the required timeframe, the foreign-citizen may
need to leave the United States and could face immigration consequences.
Our Services
[IMAGE PLACEHOLDER 3: ORGANIZED PACKET / CHECKLIST]
What exactly do you do?
We provide document preparation and administrative support, including structured intake, checklists, packet assembly,
evidence organization, and quality-control review for completeness and consistency. We also help clients stay organized
through consular/interview stages when requested.
What do you NOT do?
We are not attorneys. We do not provide legal advice, legal strategy, or representation before USCIS, the Department
of State, or any court. We do not guarantee approvals, outcomes, or processing times.
Do you work with clients outside California?
Yes. We assist with fiancé visa document preparation for clients throughout the United States using phone, video,
and document exchange.
Can you guarantee approval or faster processing?
No. Processing times and decisions are controlled by government agencies and can vary widely. Our goal is to help you
prepare a clear, organized filing package to reduce avoidable errors and omissions.
What if my case is complicated?
If your situation involves prior visa denials, prior removal/deportation, criminal history, immigration violations,
or complex legal questions, you should consult a licensed immigration attorney. We can still help with organization
and document preparation after you obtain legal guidance.
Documents and Evidence
[IMAGE PLACEHOLDER 4: EVIDENCE EXAMPLES IMAGE]
What documents do you typically need?
Every case is different, but common categories include identity and civil documents, proof of U.S. citizen status for
the sponsor, prior marriage termination documents (if applicable), relationship evidence (photos, travel records,
communication history), and clear, readable scans of all documents.
How should relationship evidence be organized?
We recommend a clear structure (timeline + labeled sections), with readable copies, dates, and short descriptions.
Our service includes organizing evidence into a clean, consistent format that is easy to review.
Do you help with interview document organization?
Yes, if you select a package that includes consular/interview-stage organization. We help create a checklist, organize
civil documents, and assemble an interview-ready binder or folder structure.
Translations and Language Support
[IMAGE PLACEHOLDER 5: TRANSLATION SUPPORT IMAGE]
What languages do you support?
We can coordinate translators for Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Korean, and more. If you do not
see your language listed, call 661-548-8837 and ask about availability.
Do foreign-language documents need English translations?
For documents submitted to USCIS that contain foreign language, the rule generally requires a full English translation
along with a certification from the translator that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator
is competent to translate into English.
Can you coordinate certified translations?
Yes. Translation is typically billed separately and depends on language, complexity, legibility (handwriting/stamps),
and turnaround time. Ask for a quote during your consultation.
Fees, Timing, and Forms
[IMAGE PLACEHOLDER 6: FEES AND TIMING IMAGE]
How much are government fees?
Government fees vary and can change. The Department of State lists the K category (fiancé(e) or spouse of a U.S. citizen)
visa application fee as $265. Other costs may include USCIS filing fees, medical exam fees, and document procurement costs.
Always verify current fees before paying.
How long does the K-1 process take?
Timelines vary significantly by case and by country/consular post. We do not estimate outcomes or promise timelines.
We recommend using official processing-time tools and embassy/consulate instructions for the most current information.
What is the DS-160 and do K-1 applicants use it?
The DS-160 is the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application used for temporary travel categories and is used for K (fiancé(e))
visas as part of Department of State processing.
Travel Arrangements (Optional Add-On)
[IMAGE PLACEHOLDER 7: TRAVEL COORDINATION IMAGE]
Do you book flights or hotels?
If you request travel coordination, we can help with practical planning (itinerary structure, timing checklist, reminders,
and coordination steps). Clients pay airlines/hotels and other third parties directly. Availability and pricing are controlled
by third parties and can change quickly.
Can you help plan travel for an in-person meeting or interview trip?
Yes, as an optional add-on. We can help you organize the travel plan and documentation so your records are easy to keep
and retrieve for your case file.
